Paid Internship Program

The Paid Internship Program helps the Friends at BFF gain real-world work experience in competitive, integrated community jobs. The goal is for the internship to lead to permanent paid employment!

The Paid Internship Program (PIP) is a program paid for by the Department of Developmental Services to increase competitive integrated employment for people with intellectual and developmental disabilities.

Current Paid Internship Program Participants

Mi Casa Restaurant

Aidan is currently employed as a Bus Boy/Host at Mi Casa Restaurant. In this role, he welcomes and greets guests, provides friendly customer service, and creates a positive dining experience by engaging and socializing with customers. His responsibilities include keeping the dining area clean and organized, delivering food to customers, clearing and resetting tables, and assisting restaurant staff with daily tasks as needed.

Back Bay Veterinary Hospital

Chris is currently employed as a Kennel Support Assistant at Back Bay Veterinary Hospital. In this role, he greets customers and provides friendly customer service while assisting with daily operations throughout the hospital. His responsibilities include organizing supplies, folding towels, restocking inventory, walking dogs, and helping maintain a clean, organized, and welcoming environment for staff, clients, and animals.

SGT Pepperoni's

Temis is currently employed as a Dining Room Assistant at Sgt. Pepperoni's. In this role, she warmly greets customers and provides friendly assistance to ensure they have a positive dining experience. Her responsibilities include helping customers when needed, handing out pizza boxes for takeout orders, maintaining a clean and organized dining area, and supporting the restaurant staff with daily operations.

Dr. Swanson Medical Office

Marissa is currently employed as a Back Office Assistant at Dr. Swanson's Medical Office. In this role, she provides valuable administrative support by organizing patient medical forms and maintaining accurate and orderly records. She also helps keep the office clean and organized, assists staff with daily tasks as needed, and contributes to the efficient operation of the medical office.
